The Preparatory Year Programme in Romanian Language for Foreign Students is designed for international applicants who intend to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Romania within accredited higher education institutions. The programme provides a comprehensive academic framework aimed at developing Romanian language communication competences while fostering familiarity with the essential elements of Romanian culture and civilization required for successful academic integration.
Throughout the programme, learning activities are structured to support the progressive development of Romanian language proficiency, with particular emphasis on its use in academic and specialized contexts. Instruction is adapted to the specific linguistic requirements of various fields of study, including mathematics and natural sciences, engineering sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts, biological and biomedical sciences, as well as sports science and physical education. The teaching and learning process is designed to ensure rigorous and coherent academic preparation aligned with the demands of the Romanian higher education system.
The entire instructional process is aligned with the standards established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), thereby ensuring the international recognition of acquired competences and facilitating the academic integration of graduates.
Upon successful completion of all courses included in the curriculum, students are awarded a Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Year, a compulsory qualification for enrollment in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in Romania. Furthermore, candidates who already possess Romanian language competences and wish to enroll directly in the first year of study may undertake a placement examination leading to the award of a Romanian Language Proficiency Certificate (B1) in accordance with CEFR standards.
Hyperion University of Bucharest also provides dedicated student accommodation facilities, offering accessible housing options that contribute to the students’ academic and social integration. These facilities support a stable educational experience within an organized environment conducive to both personal and professional development.
